Week 6 in Bacauu - Snails, Chicken Hearts, and Earth quakes...

Happy Times in Bacau

This week was really great. Each week out here goes by faster and faster. It is transfers this week, Sora and I get to stay here in Bacau! so happy about that :)

TuesdayTuesday morning we had really good studies, and we started talking a lot about spiritual gifts in companionship study and we decided to write a list of all the spiritual gifts we have been blessed with, it was amazing to just take a while and be grateful for the simple gifts that we have.
That night we had family night at the church, that's always fun :) so i didn't know that when it rains here SNAILS come out.... so Sora and the elders know how jumpy i am, they figured it would be funny to grab a snail and put it in my face until i scream like a girl! yeah... good thing it's april fools tomorrow because i will get them back :)

Wednesday: We did a lot of contacting :)

Thursday: We had our last district meeting with this district. I love our district meetings, The spirit is always so strong.

Friday: I was humbled sooooooo much Friday. We went to visit a member La Č™ada, and wow. The houses out there are literally cement and mud floors, with rugs on top. they have outhouses, and have to get all their water from wells. I gained so much respect for this member though. he maxi taxi''s to the church 40 minutes each week. And even when they have literally nothing, they are so happy with what they do have.
That night we went block knocking and met the sweetest lady and her son. She is a translator for English, so we had a half and half contact. We hope that we will get to meet with her again sometime soon.

Fridays Foods are always interesting because we go to the Belcius (they are in our branch) for dinner, well guess what was on the menu.. CHICKEN HEART AND GIZZARD WITH PURE POTATOES!!!! oh my goodness, it was probably the hardest thing I have ever had to eat! it was pretty raw heart too... just imagine that! we were all praying to be able to keep it down. and we did it :) hahaha the things we eat here.

Saturday: So we got 2 great potentials on Saturday!! A mom and a daughter, they come to our English class. we have an appointment with them for Tuesday it's a 30/30 lesson. half English and half gospel. I am really looking forward to it.
It was earth day here, we all bought lanterns to let off in centru, but when it came time to happen the police people said no because it was windy... but, we took a picture so it half counts ;)

Ok so STORY TIME.......

Saturday night we were planning and heard a loud noise come from the other room, I said to Sora
-is somebody in our appartment?
we both ignored it, then a few seconds later our fridge starts rattling. then we started swaying and we look up and after about 5 seconds sora said
- we are in an earthquake!
our entire house was shaking and we were swaying!!!!!!
Honestly the scariest moment i have ever had!! It was a 5 on the scale, which is a little bit scary, plus the buildlings here are all made of cement and not one bit earthquake proof.
But we were safe and watched over :)

Now we can officially say WE SURVIVED AN EARTHQUAKE ;) kinda cool :)

Sunday: I gave my first talk in Romanian, it went really well. I was impressed with how well i actually talked. :) gift of tongues is real :)

Well today is pday, Elder Van Dyke is getting transferred, so we celebrated our last p-day with the (insane district). We went bowling and guess who won.... THIS SORA!:) then had awesome Chinese food, and of course went shopping :)

Anyways, i love you all so much, thank you for all of your support and your prayers. I am doing really great and am loving every minute out here :)

Have a great week :)

Love, Sora Parr <3

Dad these are for you - we have 40 lights in our living room and 0 of them work

Random cords running everywhere

more cords

If you were an electrician here you could work 24/7 for years and not even do a dent of work.

Insanity is awesome - look at that stretch.  I (mom) am noticing the clean apartment too :)
