Week 8 in Bacauu (4/14/14)

Hello everybody :)

Well this week has been great of course!

Monday we got to finish watching conference, wasn't it great?! I love general conference. sora and I have listened to the talks soo many times this week, and each time we find something new we love!

Tuesday we went to Iasi for zone training meeting. We couldn't believe that it was already time again, it seems like yesterday we went for the beginning of my first transfer, time flies here.
We had a good time, our district talked about goal setting and accountability, we related it to our Insanity.
1. set realistic goals, 2. tell somebody and have them cheer you on. 3. make an outline of how you will accomplish the goal. 4. pray for help and support. 5. DO YOUR BEST :)
it was fun to show everybody our contract and helping others get excited to set goals.
One set of elders talked about members and lessons, then they related it to a recipe, if you put random items together it tastes bad, but if you match them it'll be great! so our group got blended coco puffs and mustard.... Ormsby said that I could eat a reeses peanut butter cup if I ate 5 coco puffs.... so gross but It was worth the Reeses ;)

Wednesday we did a lot of street contacting, we are having a program this week for easter, our district is putting it on, pretty excited! we have been practicing for that quite a bit. we have songs we are singing and talks to be giving, all that fun stuff :)

Thursday and Friday were really rainy, we went and visited some people from the area book, that was good! we went to Sora p's house. our member, she was super sweet, she has had SUCH a change of heart. i didn't know this but she hadn't gone to church for 9 months because something happened with a member, her first week back was my first week here, and then when we were talking with her she just started crying telling us how she just loves everyone in the branch and how she is so happy she has had this change :) it was great! and because of her starting to come to church again, another 2 members have come back! for 2 weeks now! things are starting to turn around slowly but surely in our cute little branch :)

Saturday we cleaned the church, that was fun!  Then we also practiced our song, I am playing the EFY version of "i know that my redeemer lives" while the other 3 sing to it in Romanian, i will have to record it this week after our program and send  it home, it's beautiful!

Sunday went really good, we had branch conference, the elders talked, they did really great. It's so fun being able to actually understand a lot of what is being said!
Last night we went block knocking to invite people to our easter program, and let me tell you something super great! so It was my turn to talk and i knocked this door, a girl my age answers and i started talking, i messed a few words up and she just smiled and said " you can speak to me in English" then i said NO! i will try again :) and i did it great!  sora was super proud of me. haha, it's coming along. we are doing an English Fast on Thursday this week., where we only speak Romanian all day, i am looking forward to that.
Anyways, this morning we got to deep clean our apartment, that was great. I actually like cleaning a lot now, mom would be proud;)

OKAY :) THE BOOK OF MORMON IS AMAZING!
I am soooooo happy that I am on a mission right now. I get to have personal study every single day and then companion study every single day to read the scriptures and talk about them, and then we get to go out and share the gospel with EVERYBODY! ah it's so great. :) Yes lots of days it's just us getting doors shut in our faces or people giving us the "Romanian finger" but knowing that we are doing all we can and that they have at least seen our light it is just the greatest!
If you aren't reading everyday, START NOW. I know that it can make the difference in a good day and a bad day. You will feel the blessings:)

Well, I hope you all have a great week, I love you all and am grateful for all your love and support :)

Love, Sora Parr <3
